Song as a Second Language

The mission of the Song As A Second Language program is to encourage children to become aurally literate. While this wide phrase includes all manner of classical music, the specific goal of this program introduces international art song to the elementary school aged child. Created by Eunice Poulos in 2002, Song As A Second Langueage was born out of the belief that art song is a passion that brings joy, beauty and insight to the human soul. Song As A Second Language is designed  to ignite this passion in children.

Professional singers visiting elementary schools offer an introduction to art songs predominantly sung in foreign languages. The focus is to bond with young children by engaging them in an informative, educational, entertaining and interactive way. For more information, or to inquire about scheduling a  Song As A Second Language event at your school, please contactEunice Poulos.
